Frank M. Durkalski

Frank M. Durkalski, age 88, passed away Dec. 10, 2017, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights. He was born Jan. 18, 1929, in Orwell and had been a Chester Township resident for 40 years.

Frank was a longtime active parishioner of Chester Christian Center in Chester. His greatest passions were his family and his church. After retirement, he was often found working to serve other people.

Frank had a great enthusiasm for all people he met, most notably his employees at Truline Industries. He began his career in 1957 with Truline Industries as a plant manager, later purchased the business in 1977 and retired in 1997.

He also had a great love for baseball and participated in the Cleveland Indians Fantasy Camp for the last three years alongside his son Court and grandson Trevor.

He is survived by his son Court (Amy); grandsons, Trevor (fiancé Lauren) and Aaron Durkalski; sisters, Albina Lyle and Gen Short; and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; son Dean; sisters, Bernice, Mary, Helen and Chetty; brother, John; and brothers-in-law, Henry Lyle and Doug Short.

Visitation will take place Thursday, Dec. 14, from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe R0ad, in Chester.

A Celebration of Frank’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15 at Chester Christian Center, 11815 Chillicothe Road, Chester. (Please meet at church.) Pastor Steve Sawczak will officiate.

Burial in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester.
