WGHS Holiday Concert

West Geauga High School’s choir students will be performing their annual holiday concert on Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. at Mayfield United Methodist Church. The public is welcome to attend.

Veterans Day Celebrated

On Nov. 10, 62 veterans were welcomed to a special assembly honoring their service at Robert C. Lindsey Elementary. A Cub Scout troop presented the flag, four student council officers shared poems and letters and all K-5 students sang songs.

WOIO, Channel 19 was in attendance to cover the event, which included a celebration of the 103rd birthday of Mr. Joe Dardis. Joe, his wife and all of the veterans and their guests attended a reception afterwards due to the support of the Lindsey PTO. It was a great celebration.

Stockings for Soldiers

In observance of Veterans Day, Westwood Student Council organized a “Stockings for Soldiers” activity. Students and staff brought in various health and personal grooming supplies as well as entertainment items to send to U.S. military troops overseas this holiday season. In all, over 50 stockings were overstuffed and will be dropped off at DeJohn’s Funeral Home in Chester Township.
